This month, ourย “๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก”ย series takes us to one of the body’s most important weight-bearing bones:ย the tibia.
Also known as theย shinbone, the tibia is theย second longest bone in the human body, measuring approximatelyย 36 to 40 cm in adults. Together with the fibula, it forms the lower leg and supportsย up to 85% of the load transmitted through the leg during standing and walking.
More than just a structural support, the tibia plays a central role inย locomotion, balance, shock absorption, and force transmission, making it indispensable for every step we take.
