In order to assess the anti or pro-inflammatory potential of molecules or drug candidates, Atlantic Bone Screen provides among its vitro preclinical models, a specific assay and evaluate the direct effect of drug candidates in human macrophages derived from monocytes.
Two experimental schemes are available to meet (ou according to) your requirement:
- Detection of pro-inflammatory effect on “resting” macrophages
- Detection of anti-inflammatory effect on LPS or IL-1 β “activated” macrophages
A dose response can be achieved
The treatments are applied over 24h
Quantity of IL-6 or TNFα released in cell culture supernatants (ELISA) can be measured by ELISA to document macrophage activation and highlight the effect of the tested compound, either pro or anti-inflammatory effect:
