Paraffin / Resin embedded samples & frozen samples
All the needed equipment and machines are available on-site in order to process any kind of organs and tissues and thus ensure quality and traceability: embedding in paraffin and resin and also OCT embedding can be processed internally. Samples can be received either in Formalin or in ethanol or frozen and details are provided on sampling and transport conditions to ensure good quality of samples before histological processing. Also advices for customs can be provided in case samples come from abroad.
Tissues from animal species or human can be processed as far as Atlantic Bone Screen has all needed authorisation to receive such biological samples.
Classical staining and special ones
Atlantic Bone Screen can support you at any step of the histology process with routine and special stains.
As a non exhaustive list for bone tissue or for soft tissues:
- H&E (Haematoxylin Eosin), HES (Haematoxylin Eosin Saffron),
- Alcian Blue, Goldner Trichrome, Von Kossa, TRAP, Safranin O Fast Green, Toluidine blue, Herovici, Masson’s Trichrome, Perl’s Prussian Blue, Picrosirius Red, Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS), Red O Oil, Cresyl Violet, Fontana Masson…
IHC & IF protocols, more than 200 validated protocols
ABS has also an experience in immuno-staining (IHC, immunohistochemistry, and IF, immunofluorescence) with protocol development for new markers and a catalog of validated protocols for various targets.
Slides digitalization
Either integrated into the global project or as an independant service, histological slides can be scanned with Hamamatsu Nanozoomer Slide Scanner with several filters.

Histopathology analyses
Thanks to a large panel of Veterinary anatomopathologist (board certified), slide and/or scans are sent for analyses; specific scoring is defined either before based on the Sponsor request or once the slides are all generated and observed.
Specific scoring such as OARSI, SMASH, NAFLD, ISO 10993-6, Ashcroft …
