Modern and Accredited animal facilities

Installed in 2013 according to high quality standards and validated by French Ministry and Veterinary representants, our animal facility can house rats and mice in optimum conditions to guarantee their well-being and safety.

Our modern animal facility provides an optimal environment for the well-being of our animals and the success of our customers’ studies. Equipped with high-tech equipment and controlled personnel access, it guarantees non-contamination of areas and the safety of the animals. The temperature and humidity in the housing, surgery and quarantine rooms are strictly controlled. This configuration, combined with separate rooms for each species and the use of ventilled cage enables us to carry out a variety of studies on different animal strains simultaneously, while ensuring optimum levels of comfort and care for our furry residents.

Rodent and big animals, immunocompetent or immunodeficient strains

Thanks to our accredited animla facilities and ethical authorizations, we are able to perform studies either on immunodeficient rodents or on immunocompetent ones; we can thus test a wide range of compounds (biologics, chemicals, biomaterials…) and adapt our protocol depending on pathologies and expected immune responses of the animals.

Genetically modified strains can be used; depending on the modification of the phenotype and its class, specific authorization are in place or can be requested to ensure safety of employees and animals.

Big animals studies can also be performed, especially for medical device and biomaterials implantation, thanks to local and European partnerships. In that case we combine housing capabilities of our partners with our models and surgery expertise and recover ex vivo samples for histology, biomarkers analyses, microCT…

Training team for a wide range of drug delivery routes & methods

Our technical teams and project managers are trained in animal experimentation and receive regular training in animal handling and treatment techniques, as well as the surgeries we can perform to induce pathology in rodents, ensuring animal welfare with utmost care and attention.

Off the shelf animal models or customized ones

Models for osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, bone metastases… are available as “routine protocols” and enables the evaluation of potential future treatments for those pathologies.

Atlantic Bone Screen also transfers or develops tailor-made animal models under request in order to match your needs and constraints. For some therapeutic indications, Atlantic Bone Screen also relies on his experts’ network in order to propose his customers the largest range of models.
